I know that many of you are sports fans. If you’re like me, and watch ESPN at least……3 times a day (not including web visits), then you’ve probably heard of their latest campaign — TitleTown USA. For those who aren’t familiar, ESPN has been holding this contest that allows the fans to decide what U.S. city should be deemed TitleTown. Judges decide based on things like pride, passion, performance, heritage, history and tradition.

So, y’all know how I am…..I got to thinkin….”Where is Step TitleTown?”. I mean, seriously, what places have the best stepshows, or the best teams, the most attended event, or the best step culture, the best performers, spectators, and so forth?

So here it is, the OFFICIAL Step TitleTown Competition!! Over the next month, we will be judging various locations using the same criteria as ESPN, along with some additional step-specific facets.  We have developed a list of locations based our knowledge:

EAST DIV — New York, NY; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; Toronto, ON; DC Metro/ NOVA;

SOUTH DIV — Raleigh/Durham, NC; Columbia, SC; Tallahassee, FL; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA; Nashville, TN.

MIDWEST DIV — Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Cleveland, OH.

WEST DIV — Bay Area (Oakland/San Francisco), CA; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA.

Now, there are some locations that are on the bubble, i.e. Memphis, TN; Baltimore, MD; Birmingham, AL; Dallas,TX; Hampton, VA ……..AND there are some lil itty bitty towns that also want the chance to fight for the title, i.e. Hattiesburg, MS; Baton Rouge, LA; Hopkins, SC.

If you’d like us to include your town — argue your case on this post. But at 11:59PM e.s.t. on Sunday, July 27th, 2008 — the submission window closes, and we begin breaking down the list.
