On iSteptoo.com, we once posted a blog about the Top 8 Misconceptions of Steppin’ (see Feb. 2, 2008). Two of the misconceptions were: 1) You have to be GREEK to step, and 2) You have to be Black. Well, I feel like after this, I’mma have to add one more to the list.

Now, I came across some footage of this event at a VERY prestigious college (no, it’s not MOREHOUSE, SPELMAN, or HOWARD ). This HISTORIC institution of higher learning has a Medical School program that uses “Multicultural Tactics” to recruit/ reel in minority students (specifically, for the past two years).

Half of me (the ‘We Are the World’ half) is sayin’, “Wow, that’s really neat that stepping has crossed the lines of education into one of America’s Premier schools.”….The other (more “ethnic”) side of me is like, “B****H how you gonna dangle a piece of chicken in front of me like you just knoooow I’mma go for it?!”

So, first, is the CONCEPT of using stepping to recruit minorities HOT or NOT (and somebody should be shot)?

And, what do you think of the shows they presented? Would it Catch you like Kunta, or would you be turned off by it?
